Intercultural Community Projects
At Mabat, we believe that for lasting change to occur, our participants must do more than just talk. That’s why we give our participants the opportunity to work together to create intercultural projects of their own.
Positive, Peace Academy and Intercultural Events are three examples of this:
Positive
Multi-cultural community concerts in Haifa coordinated solely by students. Positive, a grassroots event that takes places in community members’ homes, showcases local Arab and Jewish artists and provides an additional opportunity for shared positive experiences across religious and ethnic lines.
Intercultural Events on Campus
As a concluding portion of the Intercultural Process Workshops, participating students coordinate and lead campus-wide events highlighting the diverse cultures of groups represented in the student body. Activities include musical performances, creative workshops, round table discussions and more. By working together with students from different religious and ethnic groups, participants take what they have learned through the workshop process, and apply it to create greater multicultural representation on campus.
Peace Academy
Biannual three-day practical workshop in the Arava Desert for Mabat alumni. In addition to lodging and learning together, alumni work together in groups to design their own intercultural community projects under Mabat’s guidance.
